Hi everyone
I'll be doing a review of one of the most useful gadgets a road warrior cannot afford to leave home without..It's cool and it's useful. It called the..........Power Monkey Explorer.

Some background first:The Power Monkey Explorer is a portable device charger that can charge phones, ipods and any other device which the Power Monkey Explorer has a connector for. When you first get the Power Monkey Explorer it'll come 60% precharged meaning that you can use it right away without worrying about giving it a first charge.

This is the packaging that keeps the Power monkey Explorer and it's accessories in 1 neat package.

More packaging

Some technical specs about the Power Monkey Explorer.(For those who like reading tech specs)

General information about the Power Monkey Explorer

The Zip up Box where the Power Monkey Explorer and all it's accessories are stored

When you first zip open the box, you'll see the Power Monkey Explorer and it's solar panel neatly arranged and looks very presentable. For one I am impressed with this gadget right away.Looks are important but don't forget it's how well it works which is the most important aspect of any gizmo out there.

Solar panel closed

Solar panel opened up

Here's the Power Monkey Explorer itself.Looks, feels and is really rugged which is an important aspect for any gizmo these days especially if nature calls while you're on a camping trip charging up your phone and you drop it accidentally.

This Power Monkey Explorer also comes with it's pouch for portable storage which I feel is pretty neat and useful.

The wide variety of connectors which means the Power Monkey Explorer can charge up a wide variety of gadgets as well as things such as your Mobile phone, ipod, PSP and anything else that comes to mind.

The impressive array of connectors doesn't stop there. The kit also contains a world wide travel mains charger with interchangeable plugs for the UK,Europe,USA/Canada,Asia,japan and the rest of the world

Ok enough talk, let's get to some action! By which I mean the good stuff.During testing the Power Monkey Explorer performed really well when it came to charging my phone (Nokia N95) and making it last a longtime when out and about.

While solar charging can be very useful for charging up the Power Monkey Explorer, it can take some time even in bright sunlight. This however is very useful if you're say, stuck on a desert island and the blazing sun gets on your nerves and you want help but your mobile (cell) phone battery's just died and the Power Monkey has run out of power, you can charge both of them up very quickly using the Solar panel supplied in the kit.

Conclusion or summary:
To summarise, if you are a road warrior, tourist or keen explorer/Survival expert who's likely to be away from nearby power sources such as the Car or mains outlets, you can count on the Power Monkey Explorer to (almost certainly) save your life if you got into any trouble and needed to call help.

Rating:
I would personally give the power Monkey Explorer a 9.7/10 overall
Design:9/10
Performance:10/10
Aesthetics:10/10 due to the very rugged feel and solid build.
Quality:Again a 10/10 due to it being built solid.

Verdict:Highly recommended/Gold shield award
